De kraai (corvus corone) is een veel voorkomende broedvogel in Nederland. Ze zijn intelligent, leven in paren en hebben een rijk vocabulaire. De kraai eet van alles: zaden, vruchten, insecten, kleine zoogdieren en dode dieren, vogeleieren en nestvogels. Ze kunnen geluiden van andere vogels en dieren en de menselijke stem goed imiteren. De kraai, vooral de kauw en de raaf, is de meest intelligente onder de vogels.
